Before the Force Recon Marine Corps
However, 2LT. Prado's odyssey in martial arts commenced long before his tenure in the Force Recon Marine Corps. At the tender age of 5, Manuel embarked on his journey into the art of Kali under the tutelage of his grandfather and father, both esteemed warriors during the Japanese occupation from 1940 to 1944. Alongside his older brother Samuel, Manuel immersed himself in the teachings of "Espada Y Daga," "Dumog," and "Judo," passed down by their father, a guerrilla fighter who valiantly resisted the Japanese invaders. This rigorous training, grounded in the Kali Methodology known as "Doce dos metodo contradas," persisted throughout Manuel's formative years, permeating his daily life and leisure activities.
While pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Criminology at the Philippine College of Criminology, Manuel made a pivotal decision to undergo training as a candidate soldier in the Philippine Marine Corps, the distinguished elite force of the Philippine Marines. This marked the genesis of his illustrious military journey.
After joining the Marines, he distinguished himself further by earning acceptance into the Philippine Force Recon Marines, Class 001, marking the inaugural cohort of its kind. This achievement underscored his exceptional capabilities and marked the beginning of a new chapter in his military career, where he would go on to demonstrate unparalleled dedication and leadership in the most challenging environments.
2LT. Prado's extraordinary odyssey, spanning from his early martial arts upbringing to his exceptional military tenure, epitomizes his unwavering dedication and steadfast commitment to his craft. Today, he continues to impart his invaluable expertise and craft blades that embody the essence of a true warrior.
